Our Promise:
“We aim to create commercial climbing problems that focus on movement, problem solving, and progression with every set. One of the greatest joys in climbing is the problem solving aspect, and we want anyone, whether it’s your first time putting on climbing shoes to professionals, to get that feeling when they unlock a sequence that challenges them appropriately.” — Mike Kimmel (Head Setter and Founder)
Our Work:
Each week the setting team strips a section of wall with an aim to create fresh, original climbs for our members. You can expect to see on average 70 to 80 problems in our gym that suit the various climbing styles and needs of first time climbers to pros. Each problem is set by the Grip Team, so that no individual boulder is the work of one sole individual. This style of setting is to promote and create a diverse set of moments whilst keeping the flow of the problem for people to enjoy!

Holds and Problems
Routes in a bouldering gym are called problems, and Grip purposefully sets boulder problems designed to help teach climbers of all levels different styles of movements. We focus on modern, aesthetic hold selections that are fun to climb on and visually pleasing.
-
Regular Refresh
Out routesetting team works weekly to reset a section of the facility, providing our members with new problems to enjoy. We constantly feature new climbing problems with a range of techniques, holds, and movements to keep our climbers having fun and developing their skills!
General Setting Schedule:
Sunday - Strip and Reset Section
Wednesday - Fill In Additional Problems

World Cup Problems
World Cup Problems are specific climbing routes designed to match a competitive format. Because the movement style is unique, they are not given normal grade tags.
Start positions are marked with four flashes of tape that represent four points of contact. A zone hold mid-route is marked as a partial scoring position, and the top is full point value!
-
Circuit Grades
Grip Bouldering grades the difficulty of climbing routes on a colored circuit system.
Colored tags at the start of each route represent a difficult range.
